Comparing tool steel is a complicated business, it depend on how and where you use your tool, how you expect the tool to behave. People often ask me, which steel is better for soft wood? which is for hard wood? I have no simple answer, the fastest way to find out is to try it out in your own routine, otherwise, we might be talking with our hands in the air for days. For those of you who love numbers, here are some of those numbers; but be careful, numbers lie.
