For a long time, we shipped our tools with Yanwen (a Chinese logistic provider). On paper, it made sense: affordable, widely used, and—when everything went right—your package would arrive in about two weeks. Sometimes a little more. Sometimes… well, a lot more. Over time, we began to notice a pattern we didn’t love: delayed parcels, mysterious detours, and the occasional package that seemed to have decided to pursue a different life entirely.
We build tools meant to last decades. Watching them disappear somewhere between “in transit” and “out for delivery” was not part of the plan.
So we made the switch to DHL.
The result? Shipping times dropped dramatically—from two weeks (or more) down to 4–5 days worldwide. More importantly, the number of lost or stolen packages dropped to zero. That peace of mind comes at a cost: our shipping price increased from $23 to $32. We won’t pretend that’s nothing. But it turns out reliability, speed, and actually knowing where your tools are tend to charge a premium.
We think it’s worth it—and based on your feedback, many of you do too. Our tools now spend less time wandering the globe and more time doing what they were meant to do: cutting wood, shaping joints, and quietly becoming part of your daily work. And we, for one, are enjoying sleeping through the night knowing where they are.
As always, thank you for trusting us—and for your patience as we keep refining every part of how Zen-Wu Toolworks operates, from the forge to your doorstep.

The improved delivery speed and security is worth the extra cost.
Thank you for creating such beautiful tools with thoughtful philosophy and dedication. I will strive to create equally beautiful things. Sincerely, Tim Artist and Woodworker. Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA
