For a long time we shipped our tools with Yanwen, a Chinese logistics provider. On paper it made sense. It was affordable and widely used, and when everything went right a package arrived in about two weeks. Sometimes it took a little longer, and sometimes a lot longer. Over time a pattern emerged that we did not like: delayed parcels, unexplained detours, and the occasional package that seemed to have decided on a different life altogether.
We make tools meant to last decades. Watching them vanish somewhere between “in transit” and “out for delivery” was not part of the plan.
So we moved to DHL.
Shipping times dropped from two weeks or more to four or five days worldwide, and lost or stolen packages dropped to zero. That peace of mind has a price: our shipping charge went from $23 to $32. Reliability, speed and knowing where a parcel is turn out to cost more.
We think it is worth it, and from what customers have told us, many of you agree. The tools now spend less time wandering the globe and more time at the bench, cutting wood and fitting joints. And we sleep through the night knowing where they are.
