Zen-Wu X-2 Chisel

The X-2 is our titanium-bodied Western bench chisel. A laminated design: a ZW-X2 steel cutting edge bonded to a titanium alloy body, giving the chisel the edge-holding of a tool steel and the shock absorption and dimensional stability of titanium underneath.

ZW-X2 is a steel developed specifically for chisels, balancing edge toughness (resistance to chipping under mallet strikes) with sharpenability (ability to take a fine edge without endless work at the stone). The cutting edge ships flat-polished on bevel and back, ready to shave.

The chisel body has a shaped thumb rest and softened corner reliefs at the points where hands naturally grip.

Handles are reclaimed old-growth red bamboo-leaf oak. Set comes with a custom leather pouch.
